FAQ’s

Q: Can I try the tutu or costume on prior to renting?

No, tutu’s are located in Tasmania. We cross check measurements before posting to you to insure compatibility to your measurements. Should your tutu not fit, we offer a full refund or exchange. Please email your dancer’s measurements and costume requirements to primadiva@fidra.com.au - How to Measure https://www.primadiva.com.au/how-to-measure

Q: Can I rent a tutu or costume for less that 1 year?

Yes, while 1 year rental is our best value and most flexible option, we offer shorter terms of rental. Please contact us for details.

Q: What if I change my variation or outgrow my tutu or costume during my rental term?

We understand that young dancers have sudden growth spurts and/or may require flexibility during their rental term. For this reason we offer a switch out which includes a full fitting service. This service is offered for a fitting fee of $50.

Q: The costume does not fit, what do I do?

If the costume you have does not fit properly. email photos of the problem area to us and we will personally advise case by case how to resolve. If the straps are too loose or tight you can adjust these at the rear of the costume. You will need to know how to unpick and hand sew to do this.

If the bodice is too loose or too tight this can easily be adjusted by moving the eyes at the rear either tighter or looser. This requires you to hand sew. Use strong doubled thread - just like you do on your pointe shoes.

If the bodice is too low or high on your body your tutu will need to be returned and swapped out for an alternative in the correct girth measurement. This is at the buyers expense for available stock and our expense for custom orders.

Q: Return shipping - how to package?

When needing to send back a tutu/costume. The best way to send and package is by the following; Pop it into an extra large tough bag from Australia post. Place tiara in first then fold tutu up like a flower bud (its normal for the hoop to squeeze out of shape it wont hurt it). Then slide gently into the bag bum first.

Or use an Australian post box, fold the tutu in half and place in the box. Works best with tutus under 14inch net, large tutus fit better in the bags

TUTU CARE GUIDE

  • If you have a hire tutu we prefer you don’t try to clean it. The laundering fee is included in your hire. If the stain requires cleaning before your next use carefully wet the spot only with warm water and use gentle soap or colour safe stain removers if absolutely necessary. Do not over rub the fabric and try to avoid wetting the tutu net or unaffected areas. Please email photos to us for advice

  • All tutus prefer to be stored flat. This can be done inside their tutu bag to avoid becoming dusty. Under the bed or on top of a wardrobe are ideal however do not allow the tutu to become moldy. If your house is prone to being damp keep the bag unzipped for air flow and use moisture absorbing products. Tutus can be hung from the line for short intervals to freshen up but avoid leaving in direct sunlight or stormy weather.

  • Occasionally posting a tutu or incorrect storage can lead to the tutu skirt net edges becoming bent. Use a steamer to gently steam the net back into an orderly position. Be careful not to apply a dry hot iron as this will cause the net to burn holes into its structure very quickly !!!

Also store your tutu flat overnight for the net to settle down

  • some tiaras might not be the perfect fit for your head. Feel free to manipulate and move parts of the tiara to get the best fitting shape. Some tiaras come with a pendant drop, unless specifically told to be on the forehead, most pendant drop tiaras must be placed just before the forehead, sitting on the top of the head.
